(Amérique du Sud) Informations sur Paraguay
The first Prot were teachers who had been invited by the government to improve the educational system of the country. In 1886 missionary work was started by the Meth and the Disciples of Christ. The Meth withdrew in 1918; their mission was continued by the Disciples. In 1889 the Angl initiated evangelistic and social work among the indigenous people of Chaco. A German Luth Church was established in 1893. Other Prot groups followed: Evangelical New Testament Mission (1902), Free Brethren (1911), Bapt (1919), Menn (1926), and several Pent groups. The Presb and Reformed presence is of relatively recent date and is mainly due to evangelistic efforts by Brazilians and Koreans. In addition to the denominations listed below, there are a number of individual Korean mission congregations. Église
