Oman - (Asia) Information about Oman
Oman is large, about 1,000 miles long and 300 miles wide. The population has grown rapidly since the discovery of oil there. The country has developed even more rapidly since the beginning of the present Sultan’s rule in 1970, bringing many expatriates in to do the work. A good number of them are Christians. While among the Westerners some are medical workers sent to staff the growing medical expansion, many are connected with the oil business. Migrants from India, Pakistan, Korea, and the Philippines are mostly laborers, street cleaners, construction workers, tailors, and maids. Churches Copyright © 2002 reformiert online |
